Good afternoon,
In addition to the high visibility patrolling that takes place by a range of policing resources, a variety of activities have been carried out this week in the City.
Together with our Crime Prevention Officer and Fraud Unit, the City Beat Team carried out a Fraud prevention event at Lloyds Bank, where they were able to engage with the public visiting the bank. It is really important to raise awareness of the methods used by fraudsters to commit offences.
Here is a link to our website with information to help prevent you and members of your network from being a victim of fraud;

I know I have previously shared the Little Book of Big Scams with you but this is also a really good resource to raise awareness of methods of fraud.

If anyone would like a hard copy of this, please let me know and I can send one to you.
We have carried out a Police Surgery at McDonalds this week, which not only enables members of the public to approach officers with any concerns they may have but also provides a visible policing presence at the location.
Last night we carried out a Taxi Licensing Operation. This was in conjunction with officers from Cheshire West and Chester Licensing Team aswell as the team from Wolverhampton Taxi Licensing. The operation was supported by the Special Constabulary and resulted in 29 Taxis being stopped and checked. One taxi was suspended and others received advisory notices. These operations are really important to make sure that taxis are being operated safely within their licensing conditions to ensure the safety of the public using them. Such operations also disrupt and deter the use of illegal taxis. We find that taxi drivers are really supportive of such operations.
Working with CCTV we have made an arrest for Breach of Criminal Behaviour Order, which demonstrates the impact of such orders and the consequences of breaching the requirements. The same is the case, when individuals have Bail Conditions, we take a positive stance to ensure any breaches are enforced robustly.
We continue to place updates on the work we are doing on our Social Media accounts. If you are on Facebook please follow us. On our Chester Police page we report on the activity we’re carrying out and have appeals for information relating to incidents that have taken place.
We utilise Residents Voice to identify the issues that are causing the public concern. As the survey is anonymous we try to feedback on social media the work we are doing to dela with these issues. Please continue to complete these surveys. Whilst it is called a Residents Voice survey, it is equally important we hear from those who work in the City, so this is open to everyone to complete. If you have completed it before, please complete it on a regular basis so we are kept up to date with the current issues that are causing concern.
The link to the survey is below, and should only take a few minutes to complete.
