Good afternoon,
Last weekend saw a busy weekend on the City, where we had officers deployed to police the Night Time Economy following Chester Races. Friday night saw arrests for public order offences and assaults, with other individuals excluded from the area utilising the Dispersal powers. This ensures that their behaviour is dealt with early to prevent it escalating further… Our Licensing Enforcement Officer was on duty on Friday evening and visited 25 licensed premises in the City to work with the staff there and ensure that their licensing conditions are being followed. We have a good relationship with the licensed premises in the City, and take part in the Pub Watch group. Whilst we had additional officers on duty on Sunday evening for the Euros Final, we didn’t experience any issues following England’s defeat
We continue to deploy officers on Operation Momentum, both in uniform and plain clothes, to provide visibility in the City, aswell as targeting crime and disorder. There was some excellent team work between the CCTV Team and Police officers earlier in the week, following two suspicious males being observed and tracked by the CCTV Operator. They were intercepted by officers and found to be in possession of a items to enable them to commit shop lifting offences. One of the males was also circulated as wanted by another force. This was an excellent arrest, which demonstrates the working relationship that is in place between the various teams who work in the City.
We continue to deploy officers on Project Servator. This week we have carried out a Vehicle Check Point, as part of the tactic, which is designed to identify suspicious vehicles entering the City. We will be putting out some social media messaging about this soon, with video footage of the deployment. Project Servator continues to be deployed in the City to deter and detect those intent on committing offences. For further information please follow the link to the recently produced Project Servator video, which features some deployments in Chester City Centre.

We have experienced some instances of anti social behaviour in the Grosvenor Park. To assist us in identifying those responsible, aswell as providing a deterrent to this type of behaviour, we have deployed our mobile CCTV Camera to the location. This is a capability we are able to move around to areas where we experience problems and is an effective means of gathering evidence, whilst providing an effective visual deterrent.
This week the new Cheshire Police Crime Commissioner Dan Price and one of his Deputies, Gemma Southern, visited Chester, to meet myself and Chief Insp Fegan, along with several of the partners who we work with in the City, many of whom are receiving this update. We discussed the work we all do in the City, and had a walk around the City Centre. This was a really good meeting where we were able to demonstrate the teamwork that takes place in the City Centre across a range of organisations.
We continue to deploy the Pop Up Police Stations around the City, so officers can engage with the public, but also provide a high profile visible presence. These were carried out at the Chester Bus Interchange and Storyhouse this week
Below is a link to Residents Voice, which is a survey which allows you to tell us about the things you would like us to focus on in your area. Whilst it is called Residents Voice, this is also open for Businesses to complete which is something I would encourage. I know this has been circulated before but it can be completed by people again, as many times as they want, as the issues may change and it’s important that the results are current.
