Good afternoon,
This week the City Team have been out patrolling the City and targeting those causing crime and disorder along with anti social behaviour. This has resulted in several arrests which included individuals who are wanted by the Courts as they have failed to appear at recent court cases, people who have been circulated as wanted by Police for outstanding crimes, individuals who have breached their Court Bail Conditions not to be in the City Centre. We have also arrested a male who had been issued with a Community Protection Notice following his previous anti social behaviour in Northgate Street. This Notice banned him from the street, so by being there is breaching this. It is really important that we take positive action to such breaches as it demonstrates that such notices like Criminal Behaviour Orders are to be abided by and taken seriously.
This week has seen a Forcewide operation called Operation Guardians, which is targeting the exploitation of young people. Each area of Cheshire carried out a range of activity in relation to area of business. We carried out some engagement activities with young people which involved Poppie, our Oscar Kilo Police Well being Dog. She is a real ice breaker when engaging with people and enables us to deliver safety messages to young people during that engagement.
It has also been national Operation Sceptre week, which is tackling knife crime. We have carried out engagement in relation to this aswell as knife sweeps to locate any discarded knives. Several stop searches have also been carried out of people, which of course is daily business.
We continue to place updates on the work we are doing on our Social Media accounts. If you are on Facebook please follow us. On our Chester Police page we report on the activity we’re carrying out and have appeals for information relating to incidents that have taken place.
We continue to utilise Residents Voice to identify the issues that are causing the public concern. As the survey is anonymous we try to feedback on social media the work we are doing to dela with these issues. Please continue to complete these surveys. Whilst it is called a Residents Voice survey, it is equally important we hear from those who work in the City, so this is open to everyone to complete. If you have completed it before, please complete it on a regular basis so we are kept up to date with the current issues that are causing concern.
The link to the survey is below, and should only take a few minutes to complete.
