BRIDGEGATE EAST RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION (BERA) Minutes of Executive Meeting. Tuesday 27th February 2024 in The Albion

Matters Arising
- Pepper Street car Park – It was noted by Bill that the promised noise management strategy is not available and neither is the complaints process or a mobile number for the developers.
Action: Bill to raise the issue with Katrina Kerr. It was also agreed to purchase two noise recording machines. Suggested sites were the rooftop garden of The Warehouse and the top floor of Albion Mews, thanks to David Flood and Helen Foden , respectively.
- Bin collections behind Opera Grill – David reported that this situation has improved
Action: David to continue monitoring via a noise diary.
- Recurring issues – Action: It was decided to include items such as licensing applications (reviewed by Jim Parrish), BERA website, Pepper Street car park at each exec meeting
Treasurer
Bill happy to remain as treasurer, but wanted a second signatory. Jim agreed to this and was proposed by Fiona, seconded by Anne.
Action: Bill to contact bank to get mandate
Membership
Fiona reported BERA had 34 members in 2023 and so far 26 members in 2024, including 5 new members.
Actions: Fiona to email last year’s members who have not rejoined to remind them how to join if they wish to.
David to make contact with one of the residents in Lancaster House to persuade them to join
Fiona to send David instructions on how to join
Bill to check bank account for any recent subscriptions
Drill Hall Gardens
Fiona reported that there has been nighttime disturbance in the gardens and has seen people sleeping rough there during the day.
Actions: Fiona to email members to ask them to monitor the situation and report any disturbances to the police or Council, as well as informing the exec so they can be logged
Helen to research what other community spaces have been used for
Anti Social Behaviour
Actions: Fiona to email Katrina Kerr to ask if there is any update on the company monitoring the Annex behind the Townhouse
Fiona to research who owns the lease of the Annex
Fiona to ask Matt to add link to sites for reporting anti social behaviour to the BERA website
Leaflet drop asking residents to report ASB to police and BERA exec with contact details given
Focus for 2024
No responses were received from members after the AGM. The following items were agreed on:
Anti social behaviour
Pepper Street car park monitoring
The condition of pavements and roads in the area
The Walls surrounding the BERA area

- Action: Jim to follow up the Council consultation re building for development “A Call for Sites”
- Action: Bill to email Katrina Kerr for application form to apply for members money Website
Actions: Fiona to contact Matt and ask how many hits the website has had, if he can increase its visibility on search engines and to add links for reporting anti social behaviour
Attendance at next CRAG meeting
David, Anne and Bill volunteered to attend
Action: Fiona to let Mike know of attendees and also ask for final minutes of last meeting as only draft ones were received
AOB
- Adrian suggested a trip to the Ffestiniog railway as a social event for members. Jim said he would look into it. It was agreed we should arrange a social evening in the Albion – to be discussed at the next meeting
- Jim ??wondered if there was any progress with enforcing the one way system in Park Street. Nobody had any information on this
- Helen informed the meeting that the rendering was to be removed from the front of Albion Mews and the resulting brick face would be repointed. She is getting quotes for this. Adrian said he would pass on relevant contract details he had to her.
