Sent on behalf of Inspector James Wilson.
Good morning all,
Cheshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire are committed to delivering the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee (NPG) to make our communities even safer.
The NPG is a government initiative aimed at strengthening neighbourhood policing through a variety of means, including increasing the number of officers engaged in neighbourhood policing and providing a framework to improve trust and confidence in policing, bring offenders to justice and improve police visibility and engagement with communities.
The Safer Streets Summer Initiative is a government-led initiative aiming to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in town centres across the country this summer. To best succeed it will require a joint effort from all agencies and organisations that aim to make Chester an even safer place. It is a wide-ranging initiative that does not just focus on enforcement but also ways in which we can engage and support with the community to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour from occurring in the first place.
This initiative commenced on Monday 30th June and will run throughout the summer in Chester City Centre.
On Wednesday 23rd July Chester Police will be conducting activity around the City Centre with a focus on retail crime along with partners from CWAC and CABC including engagement with retail businesses, targeting of retail crime offenders and a pop up surgery on Town Hall Square. A briefing will take place on the Town Hall square at 1000 with a photo opportunity afterwards. This will then be followed by the weekly CABC meeting (held in the Cathedral) and the retail crime activity.
Please take this email as an invite you for to attend this briefing/photo opportunity. You would also be welcome to join officers in the post briefing activities if you wish.
If you will be attending this briefing and/or the activity afterwards please let me know.
